• Very good value for money
  I am using two spare batteries for my Sony Alpha 900 camera. The battery is very powerful, but you are well advised to have at least one spare ready since the Alpha 900's consumes substantial amounts of energy when you shoot hundreds of RAWs & JPEGs. What I liked is the excellent value for money at Amazon....more info

  Well, I'm not entirely sure why people are bothering to review this battery. If you need to buy one, you need to buy one, period. This is the only battery that works for certain models of the Sony DSLR. There are no substitutes.

• Best dslr battery in the world
  I purchase two Sony NPFM500H Alpha Rechargeable Battery for my Alpha 200 with the VG-B30AM vertical grip. On a four hour period I was able to take 2225 pictures a quarter of which were RAW+JPEG and the rest JPEG. One of the battery in the vertical grip was used up and the remaining had 68% power which I guess could have given me eight hundred more pictures. From my user experience I can call the Sony NPFM500H the best battery in the world for dslr cameras....more info
• Sony rechargeable battery NPFM500H
  As this is the brand-name battery that fits the Sony Alpha 100-200-300 (etc.) family of digital SLRs, it makes sense to buy the one produced by the maker of the camera. It holds a charge for a very decent time, but for a traveler, it is always advisable to have an extra battery, just in case....more info

• Best battery pack I ever had
  Some weeks ago I bought a Sony Alpha 200 DSLR. It came with the NP-FM500H battery pack. Although it's always a bit tricky some cameras work only with their own make of batteries which are pretty expensive, I find this Sony NP-FM500H battery pack is the best I ever have used so far.
  
  It's not so important to know how much juice there's left by an exact percentage (it's useful though!) but it's better to know there's sufficient power to take far more than 400 exposures. I once could take 453 pictures. So I think the NP-FM500H battery pack isn't too expensive. And if you go on a DSLR I think a reliable battery life is most important.

• Sony Price
  Most find it essential to have a backup battery for their cameras. This is especialy true for cameras with a dedicated type battery like this. You just can't pop into Walgreens and pick up a set of AAs to use. But Sony being Sony, you're paying Top dollar. At least your getting a good battery. I don't believe some of the claims here about battery life however....more info
• Great Battery
  Sony has really increased the battery life with the newer infolithium batteries they offer. I use them with my A700 and various lenses. I can usually get a good 4 hours of continuous shooting out of them. That's powering the camera, lense motors, auto focus...etc....more info
• A must have for Alpha users
  This battery will work on A200,A300,A350 and A700. A second battery is a must for those who covering events and traveling. One full charge can easily last for more than 300+ shots. I tootk this as a backup battery when I travel. With normal photo taking pace on foot for a whole day, plus photo checking and zooming every couple of shots, it can last for about 2 days. I seldom use flash, so I guess the battery will finish up faster if more flashing is used.

  A definite must for any digital camera...what is worse than being caught with a dead battery and wanting to take lots more photos? It is definitely worth the piece of mind that you can keep shooting and checking them out on the lcd without being worried that the battery will finish before you do. It has happened to me before, so I recommend buying a spare for any camera!...more info
